Accommodation overview: Haycote Cottage is a delightful stone built property in the heart of working farmland, a short distance from Coniston Water, Coniston village and Grizedale Forest. Lowick is a traditional village and still hosts the annual Lowick show, an excellent display of local craft and produce, the surrounding area farmed by local families throughout the ages. There are an abundance of gentle walks from the door at Haycote Cottage, and numerous villages can be reached within minutes drive, Coniston and Broughton just two. The nearby pub serves local ales and great food. The styling throughout Haycote Cottage is superb, of excellent quality and reminiscent of a boutique hotel - not quite what you would expect from a traditional Lakeland cottage but the combination works brilliantly. The apartment is all on one level above Amblers Rest, with views of the surrounding hills over the rooftops. Traditionally furnished and with exposed cruick beams the apartment offers comfort and luxury with many home comforts and up to the minute facilities, including bath sheets large enough to wrap around and luxurious goose down duvets and pillows on all beds, with nonallergenic alternatives if required. There are many easy fell walks from the cottage. Gable End is under the same ownership as Amblers Rest and Low & High White Stones (100 yards away - each a romantic hideaway with one double bedroom) All offer 4* comfort and luxury.

The Byre is perfect for a romantic break or an activity holiday, with secure storage for canoes, bikes, windsurfs etc and livery for horses (for additional fee). Situated in 10 acres of grounds and only 1 mile from the lake, with walks from the door step, including Aira Force where you can enjoy stunning views to Ullswater along the way. There is a shop at a neighbouring camp site, a pub within 1 mile and more amenities in Pooley Bridge, 3 miles. Only a 10 minute drive from the M6 makes The Byre accessible for short breaks as well as full week holidays.

Accommodation overview: Loughrigg Holme sits underneath the much loved fell of the same name and was once the home of Wordsworths daughter, Dora and her husband Edward Quillinan, Rich in literary history connections, visitors to Loughrigg Holme have included Charlotte Bronte, the poet Matthew Arnold and Harriet Martineau. This chocolate box property,originally a farmhouse, built in 17th century and extended in the early 19th century is a beautiful example of a traditional Lakeland residence, her 2 1/2 acres of gardens and fellside including croquet lawn blending effortlessly into the slopes of Loughrigg and displaying a wealth of ancient shrubs and flora, cleverly married with more formal patio, lawn areas and natural water fall. A short stroll directly under Loughrigg Fell will bring you to beautiful Rydal Water, one of Lakelands smallest lakes at only ¾ mile long and ¼ mile wide and a favourite of Wordsworth and many other of the romantic poets and still, to this day, magical, peaceful and most inspiring. Ambleside can also be reached on foot within 20 minutes along a country lane, this bustling village offering numerous attractions and activities for all ages with a wide choice of bars, shops and restaurants. Loughrigg Holme is obviously steeped in Lakeland history and exhibits many historic features with dated spice cupboard, flagged floors, exposed beams and original oak stairs and shutters. The house has been beautifully dressed, the owners respecting the obvious age and fascinating literary connections to create a most comfortable and elegant home, a clever mix of 17th and 21st century, the perfect venue for a family gathering and a place where special memories will be created and treasured.
