The area is ideal for exploring the traditional villages of Coniston and Hawkshead, never more than minutes away in the car, and no trip to this part of the Lakes would be complete without a stroll around The Jewel of the Lakes, Tarn Howes, an inspiring beauty spot and one attributed to bringing out the romantic side of many a man or woman! In terms of nearby facilities, The famous Drunken Duck Inn is a mere 1.5 miles away, a leisurely stroll although Hawkshead, Coniston and Ambleside all have the usual grocers, butchers, bakers as well as galleries, tea shops, pubs and restaurants.

Accommodation overview: Situated in old Ambleside, this early 18thC cottage apartment is just a 100 yard stroll to the main area of this poplar village, with its many shops, pubs and restaurants. The apartment is all on one level above Amblers Rest, with views of the surrounding hills over the rooftops. Traditionally furnished and with exposed cruick beams the apartment offers comfort and luxury with many home comforts and up to the minute facilities, including bath sheets large enough to wrap around and luxurious goose down duvets and pillows on all beds, with nonallergenic alternatives if required. There are many easy fell walks from the cottage.
