Also within easy reach the Ironbridge Gorge museums make a fascinating day out and LLangollen boasts a steam railway and narrow boat canal trips crossing the famous Pontcysyllte aqueduct. Wondeful walking on the Offa's Dyke long distance footpath golf and fishing are all available nearby.
