It offers a high standard of holiday accommodation and is situated in 200 acres of land with woodland walks and various farm animals. The local village of Iddesleigh is 2 miles away, and offers the award winning pub, The Duke of York, with local ales and good food. If you have time to venture further afield, there are many local attractions within a short drive including Dartmoor and Exmoor, with Lynton and Lynmouth to the North, Exmouth and Sidmouth to the South, and lovely beaches of Bude and Widemouth to the West. The Big Sheep, The Milky Way, RHS Rosemoor Gardens, coarse fishing at Stafford Moor and Dartington Crystal are also a short drive. Cyclists and walkers are both well catered for in the area with the famous Tarka Trail within easy reach and farm walks. Leisure facilities: private hot tub in the enclosed garden. Play facilities: children can enjoy the play area with swing, slide and climbing frame. Farm activities: you will be welcome to help in day-to-day farming activities, there is a pets corner where you can meet Heather and Sugar the Shetland ponies, goats, rabbits, guinea pigs and lambs. Accommodation overview: CHOCOLATE BOX COTTAGE IN PICTURESQUEVILLAGE SETTING This lovely 400 year old thatched cottage offers high quality period accommodation full of charm and character including exposed beams and open fireplace. Within the rustic village of Winkleigh, you will be ideally placed for touring the whole of Devon. Within a short stroll there is an award winning village inn serving excellent food and local ciders, as well as a general store, butcher, fishmonger and Post Office. There are some lovely countryside walks to explore directly from the property as well as nearby Dartmoor with its rugged scenery and wildlife. There are long sandy surfing beaches to the North as well as sheltered coves to explore. Attractions in the area include RHS Rosemoor Gardens, Dartington Crystal, Castle Drogo and much more. In the evenings enjoy a meal at the village pub or relax and watch the sun go down in the enclosed suntrap patio garden with seating. The accommodation is furnished to a very good standard and offers TWO bedrooms: approached via steep cottage style stairs (please take care with children and infants), 1 double and 1 twin. Bathroom: with electric shower over bath and WC, all newly fitted. Lounge/diner: very cosy with wood burner, TV and DVD.
