Accommodation overview: Situated in old Ambleside, this early 18thC cottage apartment is just a 100 yard stroll to the main area of this poplar village, with its many shops, pubs and restaurants. The apartment is all on one level above Amblers Rest, with views of the surrounding hills over the rooftops. Traditionally furnished and with exposed cruick beams the apartment offers comfort and luxury with many home comforts and up to the minute facilities, including bath sheets large enough to wrap around and luxurious goose down duvets and pillows on all beds, with nonallergenic alternatives if required. There are many easy fell walks from the cottage. Gable End is under the same ownership as Amblers Rest and Low & High White Stones (100 yards away - each a romantic hideaway with one double bedroom) All offer 4* comfort and luxury.

The village has a host of excellent pubs and interesting outlets from cycle shops to woodturning and is at the foot of the Kentmere Valley which is rich in wildlife. Kingfishers can be seen above the weir at the edge of the village in pursuit of salmon leaping on their journey up river and head of the valley has been a nesting area of the golden eagle in past years. All this within 15 minutes of the M6!
